Clarkdale is an easy 2-hour drive from Phoenix or 1 hour from Flagstaff. The historic town of Clarkdale is located in the beautiful Verde Valley of Northern Arizona. For a map to the dance hall, click HERE.
If you are flying in, Phoenix Sky Harbor is the best airport to use. Click HERE for driving instructions from the airport. If you plan to carpool you may find rides or riders on our Facebook page, May Madness Dancers on Facebook. From the airport, you may also take the Cottonwood Shuttle.
May Madness is based at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse which is 19 N. Ninth Street, Clarkdale, Arizona 86324.
The clubhouse was built with money left by William Andrews Clark who owned the United Verde Copper Company in Jerome, Arizona. When he died, Mr. Clark (the town founder) left a $100,000 grant specifically for the building of such a clubhouse, with the final cost of the building at $90,000, It was built in Clarkdale, AZ and designed by Phoenix architects Fitzhugh & Byron in 1925. Our venue is a treasure and we feel fortunate to be holding May Madness 2015 at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse once again. Being in the Clubhouse is like being in a museum... please treat all parts of the building with care and respect. Additionally, it is critical that we observe the NO ALCOHOL policy of the Town of Clarkdale. (Fortunately, there is a local establishment with a beautiful outside patio, just adjacent to the Clubhouse parking lot where you can enjoy cold, refreshing drinks!)
